The UV/Vis spectrophotometer has a variety of
uses. It
can determine transmission or absorption characteristics of a sample
from wavelengths between 180 nm and 700 nm.
For example, it can be used to determine
concentration
of dissolved species using a dye as a marker. It can also be used to
determine chemical composition by characterizing the absorption of a
sample.
